As a part of VIU’s commitment to supporting people who have experienced sexualized misconduct and violence, or who have been accused of it, you are invited to take part in Providing Support for Persons Making Sexualized Misconduct Reports training to become a Reporting Support Person (RSP). When a member of our community initiates a report under the Sexual Misconduct policy (Policy 41.17 and Procedure 41.17.001), the reporter may request for a support person to be present. The support person provides referrals to wrap around services and supports as appropriate. This workshop provides an introduction to trauma informed practice, cultural humility, resources and processes that may be useful or needed to support persons making a report.
We are not in this alone. This workshop is also offered to employees who have already completed the RSP training as a component of building a community of practice and support for RSPs.
Date: Friday, January 26, 2024 Time: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Location: Nanaimo Campus, Building 210, Room 205
This workshop is for VIU employees and registration is required.
