It will look at examples of where the concept has been applied, how it relates to the Nanaimo Re-imagined City Plan, and will pose discussion questions regarding the extent to which Nanaimo already contains biophilic city elements, and what more can be done to enhance these. Don Alexander, PhD (retired planner) is a semi-retired professor of Geography and community planning who has been at VIU for over nineteen years. He has written extensively about urban sustainability and place-making issues and has been active around climate and sustainability issues for the past nearly forty years. Philosophy Café is a space for the friendly discussion and clarification of ideas. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. \n\n\nOff Campus \nHarbourfront Branch, VIRL\n90 Commercial St\nNanaimo BC V9R 5G4\n\nhttps://events.viu.ca/philosophy-cafe-featuring-don-alexanderOff Campus falseaYqCFcQpUzxLBYhTummH26494
