Come hear all the hard work that our VIU students have done this term! Performances begin at 7 pm at VIU's Malaspina Theatre, Building 310. Entrance by donation, Proof of Vaccine required. Nov 30: Combo NightDec. 1: Jazz Choir, VIU Singers, Big BandDec. 2: Faculty Concert, The Skye Douglas Project Funds earned on Dec 2 will be donated to the victims of the flooding in Abbotsford, BC. Dec 2, Guest Artist: Dean “Skye Douglas” Boland, originally from the beautiful island of Newfoundland, now resides with his wife in the city of Nanaimo, BC. A former graduate of the VIU jazz program, he is currently finishing his Masters in Composition through York University in Toronto. A multi-instrumentalist, teacher, composer, conductor, Skye is an eclectic musician who has composed for and performed in a multiplicity of genres including jazz, folk, gospel, indie rock, musical theatre, classical and new age instrumental music. His current studies are based in the exploration of Jazz from Northern Europe and the use of electronic effects with the trumpet. Along with his ensemble he presents arrangements of traditional and contemporary Jazz as well as original compositions. \n\n\nNanaimo Campus Building Malaspina Theatre.
