Vancouver Island Short Film Festival

The 21st annual Vancouver Island Short Film Festival will be held on April 17th and 18th 2026.

The Vancouver Island Short Film Festival is thrilled to showcase 4 exciting programs of short films from local and international fillmakers! Out of a record-breaking pool of submissions, these films stood out for their creativity, heart, and cinematic excellence. Join us on April 17th and 18th to see these incredible stories come to life on the big screen at Malaspina Theatre (building 310).

Vancouver Island Short Film Festival Schedule: 

Friday, April 17th @1pm: CineVic Short Circuit. The VISFF is excited to partner with the CineVic Short Circuit to present a special program of 9 short films from Vancouver Island and Gulf Island filmmakers. Admission by donation at the door, or included in your VISFF Festival Pass. Doors will open an hour before show time at 12pm. Mambo’s Pizza will be available at intermission for $2 a slice.

Friday, April 17th @7pm: VISFF Short Program 1. See 9 amazing Canadian and international short films. Doors will open an hour before show time at 6pm. Mambo’s Pizza will be available at intermission for $2 a slice. https://visff.com/visff-program-1/ 

Saturday, April 18th @1pm: VISFF Youth Showcase. This program features short films directed by filmmakers under the age of 18. Come support the next generation of filmmakers! Doors will open an hour before show time at 12pm. Mambo’s Pizza will be available at intermission for $2 a slice.

Saturday, April 18th @7pm: VISFF Short Program 2 and Goldie Award Ceremony. See 9 more amazing Canadian and international short films. Doors will open an hour before show time at 6pm, stay after the show for our awards ceremony and closing party! https://visff.com/visff-program-2/
