The event is related to a large community based project with funding from the BC Salmon Restoration and Innovation Fund that involves multiple project partners including, the BC Conversation Foundation, First Nations, government representatives, citizen scientists, and academics. Day 1 will have a community focus with participation by all project partners and keynote speakers from international leaders in the field including Dr. Kolodziej from the University of Washington and Dr. Brinkmann from the University of Saskatchewan. Day 2 will have a more technical focus with updates on the current research from VIU, UVic, UBC, and abroad.
