Have you heard about all the wonderful things your colleagues have been doing in their classes this year? Have you ever thought how great it would be to watch them in action, to observe them in their natural setting? Or, how helpful it would be for you to receive feedback on your own practices, or on your VIULearn shell? If yes, this brainstorming session could be for you.

In this session, we want to bring together colleagues who are interested in participating in a dialogue on how to best structure a peer feedback network at VIU. We would like to gauge interest from our community and discuss more closely the needs, interests, and potential challenges to such a network. Together, we’d like to get closer to developing and facilitating a collaborative network that would work best for our community, and we would love your feedback.

We know how powerful peer networking can be to teaching practice and want to provide an opportunity for faculty and staff to work meaningfully with colleagues, peeking into one another's (virtual) courses, observing each other’s practice, and then sharing observations, best strategies, challenges, etc. We are envisioning this network as supportive and collaborative, and not evaluative.

We are offering two sessions… Thursday, April 8, 2:30 - 3:30 pm and Wednesday, April 14, 9:30 - 10:30 am

Some questions we will discuss:

What appeals to you most about a peer feedback network?
What model would work best for you (pairs or small groups? Interdisciplinary or disciplinary-specific, etc.)
What would the ideal time-commitment look like for you?
What do you see as the benefits? The challenges?
Date: Thursday, April 8, 2:30 - 3:30 pm
