Join the VIU Cowichan Campus Elder in Residence and Administration for Orange Shirt Day – a day of learning, reflection, and solidarity to honour and acknowledge residential school survivors and the lives of the children who never returned home.
The day will include cultural ceremonies, performances, a feast, and opportunities to walk together (Q’ushin’tul) in remembrance and community.
Schedule:
- 9 am: Cultural speaker: Bruce Underwood, call witnesses, singers, Stqeeye’ S-uli’tun Drum Group, VIU speakers and Q’ushin’tul (Walking Together)
- 11:30 am: Feast
- 12:30 pm: Tzinquaw Dancers
- 1:30 pm: Sacred circle reflections (rooftop)
