Nature in the City

November 7 2025, 6 - 9 pm

Your presence is requested at VIU’s 18th annual Urban Issues Film Festival hosted by the class of Geography 330: Space, Place, and Culture!

Through a curated collection of films, our mission is to foster social change and promote community engagement with pressing urban issues by reimagining how urban landscapes and nature can coexist and thrive.

Inspired film creators have provided a spotlight using their dynamic stories and diverse perspectives to highlight how nature in cities can foster resilience, inclusivity, and enrichment for both the people and the ecosystems we live alongside. Learn more about the innovative solutions brought forth to tackle pressing urban issues regarding food security, access to wild spaces, biodiversity, community, outdoor recreation, and more!

We aim to amplify voices that otherwise go unheard. Join us and ask questions to have YOUR voice heard and be a part of the change you wish to see in the world!
