This public presentation brings together leading voices in Indigenous law and history to discuss the present-day intersections and implications of these and other important concepts.

Kelly Lindsay
Kelly practices Aboriginal law. She works with Indigenous Nations to reconcile Indigenous and Crown authorities and responsibilities over lands, waters, and resources throughout the province.She acted as counsel for the plaintiffs in Cowichan Tribes v Canada before moving to qathet in 2021.
Today, she is honoured to work alongside Tla’amin Nation in the territory she calls home.
Prof. Keith Thor Carlson
Born and raised in Powell River, Prof. Keith Thor Carlson, holds the Canada Research Chair in Indigenous and Community-engaged History at the University of the Fraser Valley, where he has additionally been appointed Director of the Peace and Reconciliation Centre. His historical scholarship is designed and executed collaboratively with Coast Salish communities to help answer pressing contemporary questions.
Individually or with partners, Carlson has authored or edited numerous books and articles. Among his most cited works are A Stó:lō-Coast Salish Historical Atlas (2001), and The Power of Place the Problem of Time: Aboriginal Identity and Historical Consciousness in the Cauldron of Colonialism (2010).
