The annual “Great British Columbia Shake Out” earthquake and evacuation drill will occur on October 15th, 2026 from 9:45 am – 10.05 am. Earthquake preparation is important for everyone in our region, a seismically active zone, so all of VIU’s campuses participate. Faculty and staff are being asked for their support for this important exercise and no critical operations (such as exams) should be scheduled during this 20-minute period.
