Sexual Harrassment in Experiential Learning

October 1 2025, 9 - 10:30 am

Courage to Act

Faculty and staff are invited to a workshop series on preventing and addressing sexual harassment in experiential learning and research contexts.

Women and gender-diverse students deserve to learn, work and thrive in their careers. However, 1 in 2 students report being subjected to sexual harassment in their placements, co-ops and internships.

Join us for this practical and interactive session where we will unpack how and why sexual harassment shows up in experiential learning spaces, and what we can do about it. You'll leave this session with tools and strategies to respond with care and confidence when a student discloses harm, and ways to shift organizational culture, one meaningful action at a time.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understand the obvious and covert ways that sexual harassment surfaces in experiential learning.
  2. Begin to identify responsive strategies for addressing harm and proactive strategies for strengthening cultures of consent across your communities.
