From November 25 to December 10, the VIU Students’ Union and VIU Faculty Association present the Clothesline Project as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. This powerful display raises awareness by featuring t-shirts with messages from VIU survivors and allies, each colour representing a different form of gender-based violence.
Join us on November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, from 11am to 1pm outside the Upper Cafeteria for our official campaign kick-off event. We’ll have blank shirts for students and community members to write messages of support on, which will be used to form the Clothesline Project display. Free coffee and additional activities including info tables to learn more will be available.
Visit the display until December 10th to show solidarity and develop an understanding of the project.
For those impacted by gender-based violence, contact the Haven Society Crisis Line for 24/7 support at 1-888-756-0616.
