Open Gym Time

Mariners Athletics & Recreation has created four open gym times per week for students. We are excited to have students come in and have some fun without the stress of organized sport. During these strange and challenging times, why not come in and get a sweat on in our fun and safe environment on the gym floor? Approved sports include: Pickleball, Badminton, 3 vs 3 Volleyball, Indoor Soccer, Table Tennis (Ping Pong) and Basketball. All pre-registered open gym times will implement the Department’s COVID -19 protocols and will be supervised by our intramural staff. Only registered students will be accepted. Please no varsity athletes. Register here for upcoming time slots!

Varsity Athletics

Our athletics program has been approved for training and our Mariner athletes will be hard at work preparing for the eventual return to league play when it is deemed safe to do so.  In the absence of competition there are lots of different ways you can connect with the VIU Mariners. Look for online opportunities, including meet your Mariners, coaching spotlight and alumni profiles.

Check out the Mariners Athletics and Recreation website for information on program and facility offerings and to register, or contact them: or 250-740-6418.
