November 25 2024, 11 am - 1 pm
November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and it marks the first day of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.
VIUFA's Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) Committee is collaborating with VIU's Student Union to create a Clothesline Project and to host information tables in the Quad from 11 am- 1pm. Student clubs and local organizations such as Haven Society and Nanaimo Family Life Association will be present with information tables.
You are invited to join us to post a message on a blank t-shirt as a gesture of advocacy towards the elimination of gender-based violence. Once we have 50 t-shirt messages, we will raise the clothesline to hang in the upper Cafeteria for the campaign period.
Free hot chocolate and coffee will be available.
Stay tuned for more events organized by VIUFA WAGE Committee during this period.
